Adrenalineville - Learn to live without fearWhat if the zombie like creatures didn't care how much noise you made or how your brains tasted? What if they were only drawn to your blood when it is saturated with hormones after your adrenaline kicks in? You could easily coexist with these creatures, if only you could learn to live without fear or excitement.

Story BackgroundAfter a large world-wide pandemic in 2020, almost the entire population received vaccinations to help life get back to normal. Unfortunately, new viruses continued to emerge and the world governments looked to other means for ensuring the population’s safety. In 2024, a special food-based additive was created that would provide everyone with the protection they needed to counteract any future viruses. This additive used the body’s own adrenal glands as a way to accelerate the attack on any foreign elements trying to infect the body. This miracle cure soon found its way into every part of the earth’s population, primarily due to its convenient delivery system through food.
The year is now 2026 and the sun has experienced abnormal solar flares, bathing the earth in solar radiation. Scientists said there was nothing to worry about, encouraging people to use some extra protection from the sun’s rays, but still go about life as normal. In the weeks that followed this phenomenon, a large part of the earth’s population began to develop unique symptoms that were unexplainable. It starts as a rash across the abdomen, but for many, it transitioned quickly into strange growths around their kidneys, changing their genetic structure. People with this affliction were prone to taking strange risks and would suddenly become thrill seekers. Social media began to feature thousands of posts of people performing stunts, most with dire consequences. Simple tasks like driving became dangerous because you never knew when someone would be flying through traffic, looking for a quick thrill. The first attacks came as a surprise to everyone. After walking off a giant swing ride at a carnival, a couple was attacked by a deranged man who ripped them apart with his hands, taking their blood and smearing it all over his body. He was restrained, making guttural sounds and acting incoherently. In Afghanistan, soldiers were attacked by villagers shortly after receiving small arms fire from insurgents. These villagers were in a mostly dormant state up to the point of the battle and were the ones being protected by the soldiers they attacked. Random instruments were used in the attack with the goal of opening as many wounds as possible. Before being killed, villagers were seen smearing the blood of their victims on their bodies, especially in the stomach region. Seattle, Washington. A man went through the roof hatch of the space needle to fill himself on Facebook live as he did backflips 600 feet above the earth. He slipped and fell to earth, dying on impact with the ground. Witnesses then saw his body continue to move, as it crawled toward a small crowd that saw the incident unfold. A bystander moved to help, a began performing first aid as others watched. As he leaned over the body in an effort to perform CPR, witnesses say he was pulled down on the man by something that came from the area of the stomach. He was able to pull himself away, but was spewing blood from his stomach all over the victim. Witnesses around the world begin to report abnormal growths through the abdominal region of the sick and dead. These porous growths seem to have a mind of their own and will direct the movement of the body, even if it is missing limbs or head. Some have reported that the growth can launch out a small tentacle type of limb that has attacked others in close proximity. These attacks seem to be directed at bystanders who were in excited or agitated state due to an intense situation. Upon medical examination, the growth area, even when completely removed would try to pull itself along with small protruding growths. The “creature” seems to be driven by a desire to acquire a blood source that has adrenaline in it. Initial testing of blind subjects showed no response by the creature when the test subject was in a calm state. The opposite occurred when the test subject was experiencing anxiety, fear, or excitement. |
