I can’t wait to share with you all of the options my books can bring children of all ages in your life. From birth to the teenage years, I have something that will appeal to any age.
Bath Time Safari is a great book explaining the steps for bathing to new parents, young children, and those with special needs. The patterns reinforced though the book allow children to become self-reliant bathers. The book becomes even better for organizations, as I offer a version that can be customized to contain information about your services and group.
No Sweets for Santa will become a great addition to your holiday home library, though you’ll find that it will be read and enjoyed year-round. Read this fun story where Santa swears off sweets on Christmas Eve and finds himself hungry until finding a house that leaves him pizza. The book contains a special pizza recipe, song, and other fun extras to help you create a lasting holiday tradition. Schools can receive the best gift of all when I am secured to visit them and read the book to students. Beyond just a reading, the paperback edition of the book can be used as a school fundraiser, with a portion of each sale going back to the school for items on their Christmas list.
A recent creation to make the No Sweets for Santa experience even better, the special No Sweets for Santa card game should be in a stocking hanging on the mantle this Christmas eve. This game has three levels of play for ages 2 to adult. The special round pizza cards are used for games similar to memory, go fish, and old maid.
Do you have a student in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade? Contact me about classroom presentations teaching about character creation and creativity. I work closely with teachers to have students create their own special character and then write a paragraph describing them. Everything is collected and formatted into a comic book just for the class and students get a copy containing their character. It’s always a great experience seeing student’s faces when they read their first published work.
The presentation features my own special characters, the Holiday Hooligans. These colorful characters are perfect for kids who might be a little “too cool for Santa”, but still enjoy the novelty and spirit of the holidays. Ninja Bread Man, Brute Cake, Karate Kane, the Mangled Mallow, and more are out to wreak revenge on holiday party goers who have eaten holiday food. You can read their adventures in a special comic book containing their origin stories.
Beyond the group presentation, I also meet one-on-one with students between 8 and 16 years of age who are already creating their own comics. I work with them to refine their story and art using templates I’ve created over the years of publishing comic books. The goal of these sessions is to turn their already created comics into professionally printed books that can be shared with friends and family. Depending on the circumstances, I may even be able to place some of your child’s comics into a local comic shop so they can share their talent with others in the area.
Kids often try to grow up too fast and you may notice your child 8 or older has gotten interested in the zombie phenomenon, filled the undead staggering around trying to eat brains. Looking through the bookstore or video store, you quickly realize that there isn’t much available for fans that isn’t filled with over-the-top violence, foul language, and gore. I have a great option for you though, The Survivor’s Zombinac is my graphic novel that is often called “grandmother approved”. Best described as the Walking Dead meets MAD magazine in the 1950’s, this black and white book features the top places to stay, vehicles to drive, and weapons to use when zombies overrun the earth. The book contains no profanity and just enough gore to make it “cool” when showing it off to their friends. Beyond a comic book, this graphic novel contains pinups, written sections, fake ads, and even a zombie zodiac. While appropriate for ages 8 and up, the writing and art make it something all ages will greatly enjoy.
Take some time and look through the individual listings for the items listed above. I think you’ll find that there is something for everyone from FIGID Press.
